Kathleen Walsh

Graduate Student in History

Kathleen Walsh is a second-year PhD student in the Department of History at Washington University in St. Louis. She studies late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century Central Europe, specifically Imperial Germany and Austria-Hungary. Her research interests include cultural history, material culture, memory, and national identity as well as digital humanities. In current research projects, she is examining collectible materials from fin-de-siècle Central Europe and their depictions of a national heritage and identity, as well as Imperial German contributions to the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.

She received a BA in history from Davidson College and an MA in global, international, and comparative history from Georgetown University.
