Kathleen Walsh

Kathleen Walsh is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at Washington University in St. Louis. She studies late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century Central Europe, specifically Imperial Germany and Austria-Hungary, focusing on cultural and spatial history. She is interested in memory, national identity, the development of the global metropolis, and the history of advertising as well as digital humanities. Her research examines advertising and collectible materials from fin-de-siècle Central Europe and their depictions of national heritage and identity in the consumer marketplace.

She received a BA in history from Davidson College and an MA in global, international, and comparative history from Georgetown University.
