Pei-hsu Lin

Pei-Hsu Lin is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research centers on the social, economic, and environmental history of the Japanese empire, with a special focus on the history of technology in colonial Korea. Lin's dissertation project examines the management of the sardine fishery resources within the Japanese empire and the local technologies employed in sardine oil production in colonial Korea. 

Before joining WashU, Lin earned a BA in both Political Science and Korean Language and Culture from National Chengchi University (Taiwan), and an MA in Korean History from Seoul National University (South Korea).
