Kim Lacey, doctoral candidate in history, won the 2025 Graduate Essay Prize from the Association for Women in Slavic Studies (AWSS)
Kim Lacey is a doctoral candidate in WashU History. She won the 2025 Graduate Essay Prize from the Association for Women in Slavic Studies (AWSS) for her dissertation chapter "Home is Where We Are." The award was presented at the annual ASEEES (Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies) conference in November 2025.
The Graduate Essay Prize is awarded to the author of a chapter or article-length essay on any topic in any field or area of Slavic/East European/Eurasian Studies written by a woman-identifying scholar, or on a topic in Slavic/East European/Eurasian Women’s or Gender Studies written by a scholar of any gender.
