The event will feature third-trimester abortion provider Dr. Shelley Sella, abortion story-teller Robin Utz, and the Missouri Abortion Fund. This event is also supported by the Center for Humanities and the School of Law.

Speakers

Shelley Sella, MD is a board-certified OB-GYN and the first woman to openly practice third-trimester abortion care in the US. Her first book, Beyond Limits: Stories of Third-Trimester Abortion Care, is a tribute to the real people whose hearts, reasons, and stories are more complex than politicized conversations about abortion lead us to believe.

Robin Utz is a later abortion storyteller and advocate for full reproductive freedom. She has been featured in The Washington Post, as well as The Moth radio hour and podcast, Al Jazeera, NPR’s “All Things Considered” and “1A”, BBC “Newshour”, Parents Magazine, The Guardian, Australian Broadcast Corporation, and The New York Times.

The Missouri Abortion Fund was established in 2014 to ensure that Missourians get the financial support they need to access abortion care. Missouri Abortion Fund has provided funding for nearly 15,000 patients and provided over $3,200,000 for abortion care and provides public education and support for people needing reproductive care.
